WALK # 102 |
When: Thursday
28th April - Sunday 1st May 2005 |
|
Men's Walk 102 was just awesome!
This walk was such a joy and privilege to have led, and the
walk (like every walk) was a blessing and reflected so much
of what Emmaus is all about
This was due to: • faithful praying by many people
over several months • a dedicated team with a servant
heart • support from the Emmaus community •
the work of the Holy Spirit Every pilgrim experienced
the Holy Spirit working in their lives through their three day
journey, and all shared at the closing. Our Fijian brothers,
both those from Fiji and those who are Australian based, also
shared their journey, and affirmed from their experience on
this walk, that Emmaus is right for Fiji. This really lifted
our spirits, and although a lot of planning and preparation
remains, we now have both feet planted firmly on that road to
Emmaus via Fiji! We also had a taste of the lovely
singing by the Fijians as we heard special songs in Fijian and
English, including Amazing Grace. As the LD, I had
a dedicated, committed team that set out to serve the pilgrims
and also made my role so easy. My thanks are extended to the
whole team and the Community for its support and service through
the lead-up and over the three days of the walk. To the pilgrims,
may you be encouraged to continue your walk through involvement
in a Reunion Group and other Emmaus activities. I look forward
to meeting you again at the Gathering on 4th June.
We now enter our fourth days, confident that we have all been
strengthened and encouraged by the Holy Spirit to walk each
day with our Lord and Saviour and to serve Him. |

| WOMENS WALK # 103 |
When: Thursday 12th
May - Sunday 15th May 2005 |
|
It was such a privilege and blessing for me to
be asked to be the Lay Director for the second time, and I can
say we all had a fantastic walk, and experienced God's grace
in new ways. In spite of many team changes prior to the walk
due to various circumstances, my thanks go firstly to a wonderful
and dedicated team, which bonded so well. The enemy
did try and throw obstacles in our way before and during the
walk, but the Power of prayer and the Holy Spirit prevailed,
with the team and pilgrims experiencing that power on the weekend
when we saw physical, spiritual healing and changed lives.
Each speaker brought something special to the weekend and shared
openly and honestly and we were all challenged, uplifted and
refreshed by the talks. My thanks to a wonderful group of spiritual
director's who were committed, encouraging and sensitive, and
gave of themselves sacrificially to both the team and pilgrims.
Our walk was a mixture of tears and moments of hilarious
fun and was, I pray, a blessing to all. To see every pilgrim
share at the closing was a confirmation of how special the weekend
was, and it was an uplifting and blessed experience to the team
and the community. My thanks as the Lay Director go
to a wonderful, loving and dedicated team and also to the community
for the acts of service shown over the three days.
To the pilgrims I send my love and prayers that you will all
continue on your fourth days knowing God's love and power in
your lives. I look forward to seeing you all again at the gathering
on the 4th June. To God be the glory, great things
He has done. De Colores,
JUNE LEADBETTER Lay Director - Walk
